Things haven’t been going all that according to plan lately, and in life sometimes you just can’t control how things work out. With anxiety, some days seem so normal, compared to other days when everything is out of usual order. Little things can trigger unwanted emotions or memories that can’t make the ‘now’ difficult to deal with.
With me, it took me a long time to come to terms that I suffer from a mental illness, but once I identify the problem or how I’m feeling, then I can take the right steps towards resolving them.
Such as today! I wanted to share with you a few images to give you some tips on how I try to lift my mood when things have been causing me stress or making me unhappy.
Today was a treat-yo-self kind of day~
I started the day with a Dr’s visit and some blood tests done, which can be very daunting to say the least. Afterwards, I had a few spare moments to fit treating myself in. Normally I like to grab a Pad Thai for lunch because I don’t have it that often, but it’s my favourite takeaway especially when I’m feeling down. Unfortunately they didn’t open before I needed to be at work, so I went to a cafe and grabbed myself a super strange pie…Pork, Orange and Kumara…?? It was surprisingly good! I then walked over to my favourite little grocery store ‘The Island Grocer’ and picked up a feijoa kombucha! On a treat-myself-day I normally go over to the city and do some exploring, even once had a chinese massage, but having a nice little snack before work today gave me some positivity. While I was at the vege shop, I picked up some mandarins because I’ve been craving them for a while! Having my favourite fruit to snack on while I was at work gave me a bit of positivity because they’re a healthy snack, and a bright colour.
I pushed myself through the day, and here I am now. About to jump into bed! I made it! I topped the day off with a cute selfie. Snapchat always has the cutest filters <3 I edited the photo using ‘Line Camera’ app which my friend Amanda uses to cute-ify her pics. I have so many tips for dealing with bad days, so I’ll continue sharing my tips.
If you ever need someone to talk to, message me on here or any of my social medias and I’ll give you the best advice I can give.
Stay strong beautiful humans!
