Hello everyone, and a quick sorry for being very absent. Life just gets very busy, and I’m sure a lot of you can relate.
Here’s an update:
I’ve been working in customer service on Waiheke Island, which has had it’s ups and downs. Customer Service has been really challenging. Some days are better than others, but overall, it’s such a good job to meet people. PLUS I get to use the buses on the island for free and the ferries, so I’m never truly stuck if I get cabin fever on the island.
Ever since graduation which was back at the end of March, I have been saving like mad! Being a student for 5 years, I have been in over draft, out of over draft for maybe a week or two, then back into over draft. And that rule about your parents income determining whether or not you’re allowed the allowance or not? So stupid! I was very lucky at the beginning of my studies to be able to have the allowance and have cheaper rent, but as the years went on, my parents income went up a little, and so did the rent of the hostel. For example, this year? It’s $180 paid in 10 weeks ($1,800) for a room in the student village. Back in 2012 it was $135! ($1,350) it’s a huge difference.
In my final year, I was unlucky enough to be given the allowance, and had to live off the loan. $175 a week, and rent was $165… luckily enough I was able to get a job that gave me enough hours to feed myself and have a treat from time to time, but working almost full time AND studying full time took a toll on me, and I wish I had more knowledge about handling my money than I did today. I had no reason to be in over draft for so long than pure recklessness and greed.
Just recently, I have purchased a new keyboard and mouse for my computer since BOTH had broken/stopped working. I was in the middle of writing a blog post over a month ago as my keyboard decided it hated the 6, Y and H keys, and only just last week did I decide to fork into my savings and be a responsible adult, and buy a new set.
NOW I don’t have any excuse to not write a blog post!
I have so much drive and passion this time round to create more amazing content, and be more consistent.
Some posts you can expect to see from me in the near future are:
- The Ultimate Student Guide
– Moving in lists

And so much more! What are some things you’d like to see me write about? Fill out the email form at the bottom of this page~
I’m looking forward to creating more content and filling this blog up with awesome goodness!
